Russian cosmonaut voted from space online for the first time in the world

Los Cosmos, a Russian state-owned space development company, announced on June 30 that Russian cosmonaut Anatoli Ivanishin, who is staying at the International Space Station, has participated online in a national vote which is asking whether a constitutional amendment should be proposed. According to Los Cosmos, this is the first time to vote from space in the world.

Nationwide voting that started on June 25th reached the final day on July 1st. Only the residents of the capital city of Moscow and western Nizhgorod can vote via the Internet for pre-registered voters, and Mr. Ivanishin said that he has a resident registration in Moscow.
